How Does Acoustic Glazing Work?
Despite its significant noise reduction effects, acoustic glazing functions relatively simply. The best way to absorb sound is with more mass, achieved with thicker glass. Acoustic glass is two layers of annealed glass, laminated with an acoustically absorbing plastic. This material is known as Polyvinyl Butyral and provides the noise reduction.
Despite actually having multiple layers, the acoustic glazing looks like a single pane of glass. It is actually significantly thicker than an average pane of glass due to its layered construction. This is what keeps out the sounds, in some cases, by as much as 39dB. With our acoustic glass, you can significantly reduce noise in your home.
